Synopsis:
After a crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Final, 23-year-old
Yuuri Katsuki returns to Japan ready to retire, only for his idol, the legendary Victor Nikiforov, to show up at his doorstep offering to be his coach. This decision sparks a fierce rivalry with the teenage Russian prodigy Yuri "Yurio" Plisetsky, who feels Victor abandoned him. As the season progresses, Yuuri regains his confidence through a growing romantic bond with Victor, choosing "Love" as his competitive theme and eventually exchanging gold rings with Victor in Barcelona. The story culminates at the Grand Prix Final, where Yuuri breaks Victor’s world record for the free skate but ultimately wins silver, while Yurio takes the gold. In the end, Yuuri decides not to retire, moving to Russia to train with Victor, who announces his return to competitive skating while remaining Yuuri's coach.
