Synopsis:
Hana-Kimi (Anime) Season 1 follows Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese-American girl who cuts her hair, disguises herself as a boy, and transfers to Osaka Academy—an elite all-boys school—to meet and support her idol, high-jump prodigy Izumi Sano, who quit athletics after a traumatic incident. By chance she becomes Sano’s roommate, forcing her to constantly hide her secret while navigating the school’s chaotic dorm rivalries, bizarre festivals, and eccentric students. As Mizuki’s optimism gradually helps Sano regain his confidence and love for high jumping, emotional bonds form between them, even as the sharp school doctor begins to suspect the truth. Season 1 focuses on comedy-driven school life, growing friendships, and the slow-burn romantic tension born from Mizuki’s secret identity and Sano’s emotional healing.
